We believe in excellent customer service with prompt shipping upon receiving payment and sending items as described. We answer questions as quickly as possible, but please note that we are in the Eastern Time Zone so please factor that in when asking questions and expecting answers--we need to sleep sometime! We take Sundays as a day of rest.
We are happy to let you know that we automatically total your bill and shipping & handling is combined on one invoice. As long as all your purchases are paid for at the same time with the one invoice you will receive the combined shipping charge. No waiting for an invoice! However, if you pay for each item separately, due to the fees we have to pay for each payment and the fees for refunding payments, we will not refund any of the shipping & handling amounts that you pay even if we ship all your purchases in one package. If you have questions about this policy, please send us an email prior to your purchase. The easiest thing is to put everything you want to purchase in your shopping cart and then checkout.
Due to problems in the past with some country’s post offices not delivering the mail, we no longer will ship to those countries. However if your country is not listed as a country that we ship to, we welcome you to ask us about shipping to your country. We may have just missed listing your country when we set up our shipping sites.
US Customers ONLY: For large orders, the maximum shipping and handling charge for US customers is $6.50 when you order 5 (FIVE) or MORE sewing patterns in the same order. This is our way of giving you a discount for large multiple purchases. If you order each item separately, there will be no discount although your purchases may be sent all in one package.
Unfortunately, January 27, 2013 the US Post Office enacted a MASSIVE, HUGE, IMMENSE, postal increase for international mail. We don’t like it any better than you will. Because of this, we have had to increase our postage charges for international shipments significantly. We do apologize for having to do this. We have tried to be as fair as possible when setting up our postage and shipping costs after much study of past sales and in light of the new prices. We want your business, so in some instances WE will be subsidizing your shipping costs for patterns that may be heavier than normal as our shipping prices are set up for the average pattern weight of 3-4 ounces.
If you would like an order to be shipped via Priority mail, please ask us ahead of time so that we can weigh and figure the cost and send you an invoice. With the new rates, Priority mail flat rate envelope to Canada is around $20.00 and to other international sites such as the UK and Australia it will be $24.00. Other Priority scenarios are much higher cost. Significantly more than it has been! While we would love to be able to offer Express shipping, etc. anything that would involve going to the post office to ship can’t be done due to Moonwishes’ disability that keeps her housebound most of the time and, in the winter, heavy snows also prevent this. We try to do what we promise, and that just isn’t something that we feel we can offer you. We have 100% maintained our promise of shipping within 24 hours except on weekends and holidays for almost eleven years now, and that alone gets your mail out and going faster that some higher cost mailing methods.
You will always get the best deal on shipping when ordering all your patterns in one order/invoice. Please be aware, though for international customers, that a large order may trigger customs duty and taxes that will be at your expense.
We ship worldwide but please note that the buyer is responsible for any import and custom taxes. All international packages will carry a customs sticker with the contents noted and the selling price. Please don't ask for false invoices or items to be shipped as gifts, we will not do that. Please be aware though that a large order may trigger customs duty and taxes that will be at your expense. VAT is NOT added onto your total bill. We are located in the USA and have no way of collecting and submitting VAT to the different countries around the world. Although we mail promptly we can not guarantee the arrival of your package within a specific time frame.
We accept PayPal or Google Checkout ONLY for credit card payments. In the USA only we will also accept Money Orders and will hold your item for ten days to give you time to purchase the money order, send it and for us to receive it. Please let us know what you want to buy prior to sending a Money Order so that we can tell you the correct total to send. We DO NOT accept personal checks under any circumstances. We do not accept orders over the telephone. We are not set up to charge credit cards other than through PayPal and Google Checkout. Unless due to our error, we do not accept returns, so please ask all questions prior to purchase, which was are always happy to answer. Items returned to us without contacting us first will not be acknowledged or refunded. Traditionally patterns have never been returnable, even at stores where a pattern can be checked in person.
It is your responsibility to give us a correct address for your purchase to be delivered to. Most packages are at least 8" x 11" in size or larger. If this size package can not be delivered safely to your mailbox, please make alternative arrangements prior to ordering so that the package can be safely delivered. We do ship patterns in waterproof bubble envelopes, other than Priority Envelopes, so there is no need to request waterproof packaging.
If an item is returned to us for any reason by the post office as undeliverable, wrong address, etc. it will only be sent back to you with another payment of the shipping and handling fee. We ship to the address given by PayPal or Google Checkout which is their policy. We don't know where you live, so address mistakes are not our errors nor do we cover the cost of them so please double check when ordering that PayPal and Google Checkout have your correct current address. If you choose not to pay the shipping and handling fee for us to reship your package, you will only receive a refund of the cost of the item less shipping and handling and a 15% restocking fee and any fees charged by the payment processing companies in association with the refund.
Notes about Shipping and Delivery:
We are located in northwestern Pennsylvania, USA. All packages are sent from the 16428 zip code.
All items are shipped within 24 hours or less except for Saturday afternoon, Sundays and legal national holidays. We have maintained this shipping promise for close to eleven years now without fail!
We send shipping notifications out with each order telling you either that the package has shipped that day or will ship on a particular day (usually the next day unless it is Saturday, Sunday or a legal holiday). This means that your item is actually shipped or will ship when indicated! There is no need to email us to ask if an item has shipped once you receive this email. PayPal and Google Checkout will both also send you a shipping notification. Please do not ask to cancel an order after you have been sent a shipping notification for obvious reasons. We can’t pull things out of the mail stream after they are in it. We do not back order any item. In the rare event that an item is unavailable we will notify you promptly and refund your payment.
All US orders are sent with delivery confirmation numbers. Please note that the Post Office does not always scan a package at each stage of its journey and at times only scans the package on delivery. Therefore, if you check your Delivery Confirmation number at www.usps.com and it says that they have been notified to expect the package AND you have received a shipping notification from us, your package is in the mail. Please be patient for your package’s arrival because the mail can and does take more than a day to get across the country. While everything else in our world seems to be instant access, the mail is not one of those things that are instant. It can take a week or two for first class mail to arrive, depending on holidays, weather conditions, etc. We can not file a lost item report with the Post Office until 14 business days have passed (which is about three actual weeks). Please be aware of any Post Office holidays that may have interfered with your package’s prompt delivery. We ship all orders extremely fast, but can not be responsible for delays with the Post Office. No mail is sent by us with any guarantee of an arrival date nor do we provide refunds in the event your package doesn’t show up by any time that you arbitrarily think it should. We do our best to get your item moving, but the rest is up to the post office.
If you are concerned that your package has not arrived yet, there are several things you can do. If in the US, please first check at www.usps.com to see if a delivery status is showing for your package. If it shows that it has been delivered, please check your mailbox, the area around your mailbox, the area around any doors that the mailman could have left the package, sheds on your property, check with all family members or those who live with you if they have received it and also check with your neighbors to see if it was left with them. If you still can not find it, please speak with your post office immediately to find out where it was delivered to. Moonwishes Sewing and Crafts is not responsible for packages that show delivered by the United States Postal Service but that you can’t find. This is a matter to take up with your local post office.
When checking for delivery status at www.usps.com, if it shows ‘out for delivery’ for any day but the present one (the day you are checking), please contact your local post office immediately after checking your mailbox, the area around your mailbox, the area around any doors that the mailman could have left the package, or any sheds on your property, check with all family members or those who live with you if they have received it and also check with your neighbors to see if it was left with them. Prompt checking on your part will help you and the post office to be able to find your package while it is still in the mailman’s memory.
I believe that with this new international rate increase from January 27, 20013 we should now have the ability to track international orders. On that matter we will see how that works out. I sincerely hope that the tracking works and we all have a better handle on the delivery of your mail. Please note that in the event of inclement weather or an order placed after post office hours, your package may not be able to be mailed within 24 hours as is usual with us. Otherwise, please be patient as mail delivery is not instant and can take over a month, even in this day and age, to be delivered to a foreign country. If your package does not arrive and has been insured, we can not file an insurance claim until 45 days from mailing have passed. Otherwise, there is nothing we can do about packages that might go missing. We have sent thousands of packages worldwide with an almost 100% delivery rate, which is why we ask for patience for slow mail, it generally gets there.
